students, assistance for higher studies in India and
abroad, and other career development systems.

The principal objective of the Cell is to enhance the
professionalism and employability of the students of the

field/career.

in the various industrial sectors.
Activities
The Training and Placement Cell of the college operates
with an active involvement and support of all the staff
members and students of the college.
The Cell holds periodical meetings to chalk out programs
guide their implementation and assess their progress and
effectiveness.
Training
Lack of soft skills among the job aspirants from various
places, is pointed out every time. The Cell, therefore,
organizes training programs for developing and improving
communication skills of the students.
They cover areas such as:
Personality Development
Communication Skills
CV
Preparation
Group Discussion
Interview Management
Aptitude Tests
English Language Skills
The
feed-back from the students on these programs is effusive
and showed them to be very effective.
Training institutions such as NIIT, TIME, Escube
Technologies, etc., conducted seminars in the college to
inform the students on the training courses they offer in
specialist technical fields.
The yeoman-job, being done by the Language Laboratory of
the college in improving the language skills of the
students, is highly appreciated by all.
Placements
The Placement Cell members visited different firms at
Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai etc., and held discussions
with various firms in the software development, electronic
hardware manufacture and engineering fields. Many of them
much interest in providing industrial training to and
placement of the students of the college.
These discussions were followed up and as a result, a
number of firms visited the college and held recruitment
of the students of the college and the students were
called to other colleges where the firms were holding
recruitment. The college hosted the placement program of
M/S IBS and NeST for all the near-by engineering colleges.
A group of highly efficient and dedicated pre-final year
students under the leadership of a student placement
co-coordinator organized the campus recruitment program of
the companies at the college, which was very much
appreciated by the companies and the participants.
The Student Council of the college took the initiative to
form a Group Discussion Club for the students to develop
the confidence and skill to tackle group discussions
successfully. The club organizes group discussions on a
different topical subject every week. Its activities are
found to benefit a good section of the students
An Entrepreneurship Club is being formed at the college
under the Technology Business Incubator Scheme of JKC,
Aspiring Minds, Gems This club is expected to enable
industry-institution interaction and nurture potential
faculty/student entrepreneurs.
Looking Ahead
While it has been a year filled with activities and
satisfactory results for the Training and Placement Cell,
it goes without saying that much more has to be aimed at.
Raising the level of information support for the students,
wider exposure to the industry, enthusing more students to
take the relevant training courses and inculcating the
spirit of entrepreneurship in the campus community are the
areas needing further intensity.
